Today is the last day you can register on Goodreads for 1 of 2 copies of A Time to Reap! Almost 1200 people have signed up for the chance and the window closes at midnight tonight. It means a lot to see that number higher than any of my previous giveaways I’ve ever done so please share.

A Time to Reap

And, let’s not forget that the sequel giveaway ends on April 1st. Both links are listed below. Have an awesome day and let an Indie out there know their fan base!

Happy All Hallow’s Eve-Eve

First and foremost, it’s almost Halloween!! My favorite time of year filled with masks, spooky stuff, fall at its peak, pumpkin flavored everything and the distant glimpse of Christmas. Since it is my most favorite time of the year, why not give something away?? So, a free, signed copy of my first book is available out there. If you already have a copy, why not enter for a chance to win a free one you can give to a friend or family for Christmas? I mean, that’s one gift for your cousin or Secret Santa you don’t have to trouble with. Oh, and if you have read it,¬†check out my new review, see if it makes sense.

Have fun out there and get al the candy!

The Next 1000 Miles

What to Get Your Author for Xmas

Hint #1: It’s Free!!

Answer: A Review

It may not seem like much, but to Indies, it’s almost better than currency. A review or a rating on places like Amazon, GoodReads, a blog or any venue of social media is like seeing the storm clouds part and sun shinning directly on us. As an Indie, my name is not out there; I can’t get into chain book stores; and I have a fan base that consists mainly of friends and family for the moment. The only thing that will help me continue my passion is having more people interested.

Think of a new restaurant that’s opened in your town. If you went there and the food was somewhere between good and great, would you tell others? If you don’t, how will they know? Same goes for books on an almost secret society scale. There are so many to choose from, no one will ever see them without guidance or persistence. We need our readers help or we’ll surely wither away.

So, for Christmas, rate the books you’ve read. Save a writer!

Who Forgets How to Drive?

In my state, whenever snow touches the ground again for the first few days, it seems like everyone. As much as I’d love to give each idiot a physics lesson on what happens to water when it freezes, acceleration versus velocity, viscosity and all of that, I just hope that mother natures plan to thin the idiots from the herd doesn’t have me as a bystander.

Onto the new stuff. So, the next book is in my own preliminary edits (my own personal hell) before going to the pros in December. In the spirit of giving, I have another Goodreads giveaway up for diligent fans, the link is below. Totally free, it will ask for your address only because I’d have to mail you a copy if / when you win.This will be the last giveaway I have for A Time to Reap, so I hope you can all give it a shot.

I am planning on doing a cover reveal for the sequel, A Time to Live, in the month of December. It’ll be fairly small depending on the size of the crowd, but you can ask questions (book or non-book related), have a chance to win prizes and help me spread the word. So, keep your eyes peeled or come join me on the Facebook!

A Time to Reap, The Next 1000 Miles

Reviews = Life

Well, I was a part of two different Giveaways that concluded yesterday. The first was the AEC Stellar Event. A bunch of authors pitched in and there was fun and prizes galore. No punch and pie though… virtually maybe…

Secondly, Goodreads has a Giveaway program for authors to submit their books for fans to click on and register to receive a free hard-copy version of the book. No need to purchase or commit to anything, just straight up enter and move along.

Now, if you don’t already know, Goodreads is like a Social Media site for book lovers. You can catalog all your reads, rate them, find ones to add into a “To-Read” category and bunch of other options. Additionally, you can join/create reading groups, enter your favorite books into Listopia and harness your favorite quotes from authors.

Authors love this site and can equally dislike it. Mainly, we have no power here, the readers do. We are at their mercy, which is good as long as you have a strong fan-base or a wonderful book. For newcomers like myself, I drifted in a sea of wanting to get people to notice my novel and at least add it to their “To-Read” pile. Low and behold, the Giveaway was completely worth it.

I went from having my book out there for almost two months with a generous 68 wanting to read it to having now 395 glorious souls looking at the chance in just under a week. My sincere hope is that, somewhere down the line, at least a small percentage of these folks will choose to pick up my book.

Exciting times are ahead. Thank to everyone who has ever clicked a like, read through a post or picked up a copy. You are making my dreams a reality!

Showcase

Shannon A. Thompson {Showcase}

This Thursday’s showcase can truly go to none other than Shannon A. Thompson. Mainly, Shannon has been a blogging/author inspiration to me in different forms AND she also has a new release available today. Yes, TODAY! Seconds Before Sunrise is the sequel in her Timely Death Trilogy and I am certain is going to draw twice as much attention.

When most authors get above 5,000 followers, let alone above 10K, the responses and replies get fairly limited or sporadic at best. Shannon has amused my questions and responded to every email I’ve sent her, thankfully! A published author since the young age of 16, Shannon continues to foster stories and work toward a personal goal of opening an affordable art school (help her out).

So, go buy her books and if nothing else, check out her site. I have peppered various links below for your amusement:
