Today is the last day you can register on Goodreads for 1 of 2 copies of A Time to Reap! Almost 1200 people have signed up for the chance and the window closes at midnight tonight. It means a lot to see that number higher than any of my previous giveaways I’ve ever done so please share.

A Time to Reap

And, let’s not forget that the sequel giveaway ends on April 1st. Both links are listed below. Have an awesome day and let an Indie out there know their fan base!

Happy All Hallow’s Eve-Eve

First and foremost, it’s almost Halloween!! My favorite time of year filled with masks, spooky stuff, fall at its peak, pumpkin flavored everything and the distant glimpse of Christmas. Since it is my most favorite time of the year, why not give something away?? So, a free, signed copy of my first book is available out there. If you already have a copy, why not enter for a chance to win a free one you can give to a friend or family for Christmas? I mean, that’s one gift for your cousin or Secret Santa you don’t have to trouble with. Oh, and if you have read it, check out my new review, see if it makes sense.

Have fun out there and get al the candy!

Journey of 1000 Miles

Where is Your Copy?

If the answer is yes, does your friend, your mom, your dad, siblings, cousins, friends, frenemies, enemies and all the people in between? Amazon lets you gift these things! You can even hold them as a gift for a birthday or Christmas present. Point is, the sale is a limited time and I’d love you to save money. More than that, I’d love to see pics of you with your copy! Post it out on Instagram or Twitter with the #ATimetoReap or #ATimetoLive

The mini-sale on Kindle copies is ending soon! $.99 each!! WHAAAAAAT? Yup, for the same amount of change you can find in your car, you can enjoy a digital (eco-friendly, green) copy of both my books!

This sale ends for A Time to Reap on the 11th and A Time to Live is going to run until the 14th. So, take a dollar gamble, read a chapter or two then come back and pick up the sequel with plenty of time to spare.

Journey of 1000 Miles

Dry July

Well, as an Indie, the only truly bad part about being your own boss is that you can’t reprimand the underlings for slacking on their job. Well, you can, but it’s basically a shouting match in front of a mirror. And let’s face it, I can’t argue with this face. Soooo, my busy body time in June left my July a slackerrific month indeed. As such, my sales greatly noticed it. In fact a sale in June and one in August bookend the hollow nothing in-between.

That’s a bad author… no biscuit for me. So, as a punishment and in hopes that there are still fans out there, I’ll be kicking off a mini-sale on Kindle copies starting this Friday morning! $.99 each!! WHAAAAAAT? Yup, for the same amount of change you can find in your car, you can enjoy a digital (eco-friendly, green) copy of both my books!

Careful though, sale ends for A Time to Reap on the 11th. Why? I don’t have a clue, Amazon would not allow me to stretch it out for a week. On the plus side, A Time to Live is going to run until the 14th. So, take a dollar gamble, read a chapter or two then come back and pick up the sequel with plenty of time to spare.

Interview with Nina Soden

I was able to have my first returning interview last night! Now, this really is the first live interview we had, but I started my YouTube adventure with her as my guinea pig and somehow I was able to fool her again to coming back. The wonderful Nina Soden stopped by and we discussed her ever-growing collection of novels, the differences of paranormal vs supernatural and then I put her on the spot with a quick game of “name as many movies about…”

She’s a great person and as Indies, we should all try and check out what we’re capable of doing. Our community is large and strong, so let’s keep that mentality going. Check out her page and let her know that I sent you!

The Next 1000 Miles

Catch Your Breath

In the oncoming vacation train heading right for me, I keep thinking of posts to write and plan and etc… For myself, and I think a lot of bloggers, there comes a moment when I think I have absolutely nothing else to say or offer to the viewing masses.

Then, one thing I was discussing recently with a budding author friend of mine was the moment when your first book is getting ready to enter the touch-up stages. Editing is nearly done, all that’s left is cover art, formatting and release. We both agreed the feeling is like going under water and having to plan your breaths so you don’t choke. I can remember, it was a nerve-racking experience feeling that moment on the edge and realizing I should jump, I had to jump.

In retrospect, I learned a lot from my own mistakes. One of the most prominent is the feeling I wasn’t ready and time was slipping away. There is never a “right time” for that first step in anything we do. Think back to any number of first-time experiences and tell me you were perfectly prepared for what happened next.

As an author, you learn as you go, like most of life. Never be too afraid to fail. We all do it to some extent, just catch your breath and realize the first step is the hardest. Each step afterwards gets easier and there is a silent community of helpful people standing behind you ready to help as best as they can.

Video Interview with JB Salsbury

This weekend, I was able to have a sit down with my one and only Literary Godmother, JB Salsbury. She helped me out answering questions and reminding me how to stay on the path to becoming a diligent writer. She’s a best selling author, has five published books and another one on the way.  Come and take a look if you haven’t already and if you are an author or soon to be published author and dare to put your face on the internet, feel free to email me, address is below!

Video Interview with Zachary Chopchinski

This weekend, I tried my damnedest to start an interview on time. Well, my skills of preparation are still evolving and I started late. Then I ruined in, and then 10 minutes later, we began. The entertaining Zachary Chopchinski, the Zach Chop if I may, was nice enough to rearrange his schedule to accommodate my rather fluctuating one. We had some laughs, a few giggles and a handful of chuckles. Dare I say it, I found a friend on the Internet today. If you can’t watch it, at least listen:

Video Interview with Kate M. Colby

This weekend, I had the wonderful experience of testing out Google Hangouts with an author and budding friend of mine, Kate M. Colby. With the technical help of her husband, Daniel, we were able to setup a live YouTube / Google Hangout Air interview. We dive into some randomness and through a few trial and error issues (on my side) we were able to get one going. Please, at least go and hear the interview, click on the link below and see what Kate has to say:

Audio Interview with Nina Soden

I had the chance to work with a great author on this new endeavor of mine. I’m going to try and get some video or audio interviews with some of your favorite Indie authors. Up first, Nina Soden was gracious and patient enough to work with me. I asked her a few questions and if you ever wondered what she sounded / looked like, go check out the video here:
