Well, it’s that time. The put up or shut up time for me. I’ve completed my major edits (still pacing back and forth in my mind on things to cut) and trimmed just over 19,000 words. Now, it’s query time.
I sat down the past couple of days and I have to say, this is the hardest part. It’s like writing a love letter in the midst of a professional resume, awkward. On one hand, describing a manuscript should be easy right? Except that you have to boil it down to a couple of paragraphs making it the most captivating thought of a story possible. On the other hand, every word, phrase, thought and hope splashes out in a conundrum of stuttering proportions. If Porky Pig was having Michael J. Fox dictate a synopsis, that is what I feel like. No offense, love MJF.
I’m not ashamed of my work, but I struggle with how to fit my Thanksgiving meal of a story into the encasement of a Tic Tac package. Needless to say, I will be heard. I just want my first words to describe me the best.
Wish me luck!
